There are 7 characteristics that all living things do. Non - living things may do some, but will not do all seven.

Movement: Changing the position of parts of the organism or the whole organism in response to stimuli from the environment

Reproduction[edit | edit source]

All living things reproduce in order to continue the species.

Sensitivity[edit | edit source]

All living organisms can sense changes in their surroundings, and therefore respond to them. Changes sensed include temperature, sound, chemical presence and many others depending on the organism

Nutrition[edit | edit source]

Living Organisms need to feed to grow and for a source of energy.

Some of the food taken in is used to help cells grow and to build new cells. Thus the organism gets larger.
